Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is a 2018 American science fiction adventure film that is the sequel to Jurassic World (2015). Directed by J. A. Bayona, it is the fifth installment of the Jurassic Park film series, as well as the second installment of a planned Jurassic World trilogy. The film features Derek Connolly and Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow both returning as writers, with Trevorrow and original Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg acting as executive producers. Set on the fictional Central Americanisland of Isla Nublar, off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, it follows Owen Grady and Claire Dearing as they rescue the remaining dinosaurs on the island before a volcanic eruption destroys it. Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, B. D. Wong, and Jeff Goldblumreprise their roles from previous films in the series, with Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, James Cromwell, Toby Jones, Ted Levine, Isabella Sermon, and Geraldine Chaplin joining the cast.

Filming took place from February to July 2017 in the United Kingdom and Hawaii. Fallen Kingdom premiered in Madrid, Spain on May 21, 2018, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on June 22, 2018, by Universal Pictures. The film has grossed $202 million worldwide and received mixed reviews from critics, who praised Pratt's performance, Bayona's direction and the visuals, as well as the "surprisingly dark moments," although many criticized the script and re-hashed moments, with some critics suggesting it had run its course.^[7] An untitled sequel is set to be released on June 11, 2021, with Trevorrow returning to direct.

Three years after the events of the previous film, the Jurassic World theme park on Isla Nublar has been abandoned. A mercenary team arrives on the island to retrieve DNA from the remains of Indominus rex, which lies at the bottom of the Mosasaurus lagoon. After sending a piece of bone to the surface, the team is attacked by the Mosasaurus and Tyrannosaurus rex. As the team barely escapes, the lagoon gate is left open, causing the Mosasaurus to escape into the ocean.

On the mainland, a U.S. Senate hearing debates whether Isla Nublar's dinosaurs should be saved from an impending volcanic eruption. Dr. Ian Malcolm argues that the dinosaurs should be left to die as he believes that nature is correcting the mistake that John Hammond had made by cloning the dinosaurs several years earlier. Meanwhile, Jurassic World's former manager Claire Dearing has created the Dinosaur Protection Group to save the dinosaurs. After the Senate rejects rescue of the dinosaurs, Claire is contacted by Benjamin Lockwood, Hammond's former partner in creating dinosaur-cloning technology.

Claire meets Lockwood at his estate in Northern California. Lockwood and his aide, Eli Mills, are planning to move the dinosaurs to a new island sanctuary where they will live without human interference. Mills is concerned that locating Blue, the last living Velociraptor, will be difficult, so Claire recruits Owen Grady, Jurassic World's former Velociraptor trainer, to join the mission.

The rescue group arrives on Isla Nublar and meets head mercenary, Ken Wheatley. Claire and former park technician Franklin Webbreactivate the park's dinosaur trackers in the command bunker, while Owen, Wheatley, paleo-veterinarian Zia Rodriguez, and the mercenaries search for Blue. Upon finding Blue, the mercenaries shoot Blue and Owen is shot with tranquilizers, while Zia is forced to keep Blue alive. After surviving a Baryonyx attack, Claire and Franklin reunite with Owen as the volcano erupts. Claire and Franklin use an abandoned gyrosphere to flee from the pyroclastic flow, but it plummets off a cliff and into the ocean. Owen rescues them from the sinking Gyrosphere, and they sneak aboard the mercenaries' ship, where they reunite with Zia. The ship, filled with captured dinosaurs, departs for the mainland while Isla Nublar is destroyed by the volcano.

At Lockwood's estate, Maisie, Lockwood's apparent granddaughter, learns that Mills is secretly working with auctioneer Gunnar Eversol to sell the captured dinosaurs, as well as the Indoraptor, a new hybrid dinosaur created by Dr. Henry Wu using the Indominus rex and Velociraptor DNA. Wu plans to use DNA from Blue and the retrieved Indominus rex bone to create improved versions of the Indoraptor. Lockwood, informed by Maisie, confronts Mills about the auction before being murdered by Mills.

Owen and Claire are discovered and locked in a cell at the estate, while Zia and Franklin evade capture. As the auction begins, Owen and Claire escape and find Maisie, who shows them the auction as the Indoraptor is sold despite Wu's warning that it is too dangerous. Owen liberates a Stygimoloch to disrupt the auction. Wheatley attempts to retrieve one of the Indoraptor's teeth as a trophy, but the Indoraptor escapes, killing him and Eversol.

Mills reveals to Owen and Claire that Maisie is actually a clone of Lockwood's deceased daughter, and she is the reason John Hammond, who was against human cloning, ended his partnership with Lockwood. As the Indoraptor hunts the group throughout the mansion, they are saved by Blue, who was freed by Zia after Wu tried to take some of her DNA. Falling from a glass roof, the Indoraptor is impaled on a Triceratops skull on display, killing it.

The remaining unsold dinosaurs are freed from their cages because of a hydrogen cyanide leak, despite Owen's warning. Mills attempts to escape with the Indominus rex bone, but is eaten by the Tyrannosaurus and a Carnotaurus. Owen and Claire leave with Maisie while Blue and the rest of the dinosaurs escape out into the world. Meanwhile, in a new U.S. Senate hearing, Malcolm says that humans must now coexist with dinosaurs.

In a post-credits scene, a flock of Pteranodon fly around Paris Las Vegas' Eiffel Tower replica.

Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran

Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran is a 2018 Indian historical action drama film directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Zee Studios and JA Entertainment. The film is written by Saiwyn Quadras, Sanyuktha Chawla Sheikh and Abhishek Sharma. The film is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran in 1998. It stars John Abraham, Diana Penty and Boman Irani.

Parmanu was released on 25 May 2018. It was earlier slated to release on 8 December 2017, but the makers pushed the date to avoid clashing with Padmaavat. It was further delayed owing to conflicts between the producers of the film, Abraham and KriArj Entertainment.

Parmanu was officially announced on 15 April 2017 via Taran Adarsh's Twitter handle.^[14] John Abraham was approached by film producers Prerna Arora and Arjun N Kapoor with the script, which was further developed.^[15] Parmanu was shot in Delhi and Mumbai, with major portions being shot in Pokhran, and areas of Pokhran Fort, Aada Bazaar, Gandhi Chowk Main Market and the Gomat Railway Station.^[16] The principal photography of the film began on 31 May 2017 and the shoot was completed in August.^[17][18] About the film, Abraham said: "Parmanu is an ode to the Army and scientists, who although ordinary people, truly accomplished extraordinary feats in the face of adversity to ensure that India finds its due place on the world nuclear map."^[19]

Marketing and release

The first look of the film was revealed by Abraham through his Twitter handle on 22 June 2017. It showed his face merged with the map of Pokhran.^[20] The second poster of the film was released on 14 August 2017 which showed Abraham running with jeeps, bunkers in the background.^[21] Two posters of the film showing Abraham and Penty in Army uniform were released on 3 November 2017.^[22] Teaser of this film was released on April 5th 2018. The trailer was released on 11 May 2018.^[23]

Earlier scheduled to release on 8 December 2017, the film released on 25 May 2018 across 1935 screens.^[24][2]

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is a 2018 Indian Hindi comedy film directed by Luv Ranjan.^[4][5] Ranjan also produced the film with Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Ankur Garg. This marks the fourth collaboration between Ranjan and the lead actors Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha and third collaboration of Sunny Singh and Ishita Raj Sharma with the trio. The film released theatrically on 23 February 2018.^[6][7] The film received mixed reviews; while the commentators praised the humour, they were critical of the misogynisticplot.^[8] It emerged as a commercial success and ranks as one of the highest grossing Bollywood films of 2018.^[9][10]

The movie begins with a crying Titu who is worried as his girlfriend Pihu refuses to talk with him. Sonu, his best friend, tells him that she is not meant for him justifying his argument by comparing Titu's caring nature with that of his Pihu's possessive one. Sonu gives an ultimatum to Titu to choose between Pihu and him and Titu chooses his best friend.

Six months after his breakup, Titu's family tells him that a family has shown interest in getting him married to their daughter. He agrees to meet Sweety. The two instantly hit it off. Sweety is extremely caring, sensitive and is the 'ideal wife'. Sonu finds this very fishy, though he admits to Titu that she seems nice but he can't really say whether or not the two should marry just yet.

He later finds out that Sweety was in fact going to marry another man named Rahul but that did not work out as she became dominating, possessive and got drunk and created a scene in Goa. He reveals this to the family and grandmother, who question Sweety regarding the same and she tells her version of story where she had no fault. Titu tells Sonu that she had told him all of this in the first meeting itself and he did not want the family to know about all of this.

On the night of the engagement, Sonu begins warming up to the idea of Titu and Sweety's wedding. However, Sweety reveals that she in fact is a clever female and challenges him that she will throw him out of Titu's life and home very soon. Sonu confides in his friends Ghasite and Lalu about the revelation. They bet amongst themselves to see if Sonu can save Titu from Sweety.

Titu is now engaged to Sweety and this brings a lot of compromises in Sonu's life who was earlier used to living a bachelor life. Sweety changes their care-taker, she walks in on Sonu making out with a girl. She also manipulates the family members and Titu into buying and naming a house after her and Titu. She turns the house into vegetarian and threatens Ghasite of revealing his dirty lies to Dadi.

Sonu foresees Titu's imminent downfall and to protect him he plans a bachelor party for Titu at Amsterdam, where he arranges his ex-girlfriend Pihu to "accidentally" run into them after convincing her that Titu is still in love with her and he wants to help them get back together. They return to India along with Pihu and Sonu is happy to see a bothered Sweety after witnessing the growing closeness between Titu and Pihu. But Sweety reveals the truth to Pihu that it was in fact Sonu who broke Titu and Pihu up in the first place and that Sonu is using her. At this point Titu is visibly angry with Sonu.

He once again confides with Ghasite (Titu's grandfather) and Lalu and they volunteers to sort the situation but Sonu interjects saying his best friend should decide for himself. Sonu helps prepare for the wedding, dances in the Baraat but during the garland ceremony he makes a final attempt and gives Titu the ultimatum again: 'It's either her or me'. Sweety attempts to turn the tide but Titu, in a fit of epiphany, firmly announces that if it is between him or her, it will always be his best friend. The scene switches to Sweety standing in the mandap and coming to terms that her malicious tactics cannot always triumph.

Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War is a 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2012's The Avengers and 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the nineteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and features an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Josh Brolin, and Chris Pratt. In Avengers: Infinity War, the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy attempt to stop Thanos from amassing the all-powerful Infinity Stones.

The film was announced in October 2014 as Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1. The Russo brothers came on board to direct in April 2015 and by May, Markus and McFeely had signed on to write the script for the film, which drew inspiration from Jim Starlin's 1991 The Infinity Gauntlet comic and Jonathan Hickman's 2013 Infinity comic. In 2016, Marvel shortened the title to Avengers: Infinity War. Filming began in January 2017 at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayette County, Georgia, and lasted until July 2017, shooting back-to-back with an untitled direct sequel. Additional filming took place in Scotland, England, the Downtown Atlanta area, and New York City. With an estimated budget in the range of $316–400 million, it is one of the most expensive films ever made.

Avengers: Infinity War held its world premiere on April 23, 2018 in Los Angeles and was released in the United States on April 27, 2018, in IMAX and 3D. The film received praise for the performances of the cast (particularly Brolin's), visual effects, emotional weight of the story, and action scenes. It became the fourth film and the first superhero film to gross over $2 billion worldwide, making it the fourth highest-grossing film of all time, the fifth highest-grossing film in the United States and Canada, as well as the highest-grossing film of 2018. In its opening weekend, it grossed $641 million worldwide and $258 million domestically, setting the records for the highest-grossing openings for both. Infinity War became the fastest film in history to reach a worldwide gross of $1 billion, doing so in 11 days, and the second fastest film to reach $2 billion worldwide in 48 days, behind Avatar (2009). The untitled sequel is set to be released on May 3, 2019.

Having acquired the Power Stone from the planet Xandar, Thanos and his lieutenants—Ebony Maw, Cull Obsidian, Proxima Midnight, and Corvus Glaive—intercept the spaceship carrying the survivors of Asgard's destruction.^{[N 1]} As they extract the Space Stone from the Tesseract, Thanos subdues Thor, overpowers Hulk, and kills Loki. Heimdall sends Hulk to Earth using the Bifröst before being killed. Thanos departs with his lieutenants and obliterates the spaceship.

Hulk crash-lands at the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York City, reverting to Bruce Banner. He warns Stephen Strange and Wong about Thanos' plan to kill half of all life in the universe; in response, Strange recruits Tony Stark. Maw and Obsidian arrive to retrieve the Time Stone from Strange, drawing the attention of Peter Parker. Maw captures Strange, but fails to take the Time Stone due to an enchantment. Stark and Parker pursue Maw's spaceship, Banner contacts Steve Rogers, and Wong stays behind to guard the Sanctum.

In Scotland, Midnight and Glaive ambush Wanda Maximoff and Vision in order to retrieve the Mind Stone in Vision's forehead. Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, and Sam Wilson rescue them and take shelter with James Rhodes and Banner at the Avengers Compound. Vision offers to sacrifice himself by having Maximoff destroy the Mind Stone to keep Thanos from retrieving it. Rogers suggests they travel to Wakanda, which he believes has the resources to remove the stone without destroying Vision.

The Guardians of the Galaxy respond to a distress call from the Asgardian ship and rescue Thor, who surmises Thanos seeks the Reality Stone, which is in the possession of the Collector on Knowhere. Rocket and Groot accompany Thor to Nidavellir, where they and Eitri create a battle-axe capable of killing Thanos. On Knowhere, Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, and Mantis find Thanos with the Reality Stone already in his possession. Thanos kidnaps Gamora, his adoptive daughter, who reveals the location of the Soul Stone to save her captive adoptive sister Nebula from torture. Thanos and Gamora travel to Vormir, where Red Skull, keeper of the Soul Stone, informs him the stone can only be retrieved by sacrificing someone he loves. Thanos reluctantly kills Gamora, earning the stone.

Nebula escapes captivity and asks the remaining Guardians to meet her on Thanos' destroyed homeworld, Titan. Stark and Parker kill Maw and rescue Strange. Landing on Titan, they meet Quill, Drax, and Mantis. The group forms a plan to remove Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet after Strange uses the Time Stone to view millions of possible futures, seeing only one in which Thanos loses. Thanos arrives, justifying his plans as necessary to ensure the survival of a universe threatened by overpopulation. The group subdues him until Nebula deduces that Thanos has killed Gamora. Enraged, Quill attacks him, allowing Thanos to break the group's hold and overpower them. Stark is seriously wounded by Thanos, but is spared after Strange surrenders the Time Stone to Thanos.

In Wakanda, Rogers reunites with Bucky Barnes before Thanos' army invades. The Avengers, alongside T'Challa and the Wakandan forces, mount a defense while Shuri works to extract the Mind Stone from Vision. Banner, unable to transform into the Hulk, fights in Stark's Hulkbuster armor. Thor, Rocket, and Groot arrive to reinforce the Avengers; Midnight, Obsidian, and Glaive are killed and their army is routed. Thanos arrives and despite Maximoff's attempt to destroy the Mind Stone, removes it from Vision, killing him.

Thor severely wounds Thanos, but Thanos activates the completed Infinity Gauntlet and teleports away. Half of all life across the universe disintegrates, including Barnes, T'Challa, Groot, Maximoff, Wilson, Mantis, Drax, Quill, Strange, and Parker. Stark and Nebula remain on Titan while Banner, M'Baku, Okoye, Rhodes, Rocket, Rogers, Romanoff, and Thor are left on the Wakandan battlefield. Meanwhile, Thanos watches a sunrise on another planet.

In a post-credits scene, Nick Fury transmits a signal as he, Maria Hill, and others disintegrate. The transmitter displays a starburst insignia on a red-and-blue background.^{[N 2]}
